Graduation from college has a uncanny way of forcing us into new things. So here I am, simultaneously making my first forays into The Real World, and an even scarier place, the Blogosphere. Planning to spend a full year on the Continent–first living in Brussels for summer 2009 and then pursuing a Fulbright grant in Neuchâtel, Switzerland until June 2010. I am a card-carrying Europhile, so this should be F-U-N fun.
I graduated from Pomona College in May 2009 as a double-major in International Relations and French. My Fulbright studies in Switzerland are concentrated in sports law. I am particularly interested in the FIFA regulations governing professional football (soccer) player transfers and contracts. I am also working on an article about the legal implications of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s biological passport, as well as preparing a presentation about sporting nationalities for a conference in July 2010. This blog will mostly share stories from my travels in Switzerland and beyond.
